The story of the original chairs begins in 1928. Their creator, Breuer, was then in Germany and an idea crossed his mind. Inspired by the bicycle and its manufacture, he decided to combine comfort solidity. Two parts bringing comfort, the backrest and the seat, which are made of bent wood and Viennese weaving. And a tubular steel part, which connects the whole and serves as a base. It is the latter that was inspired by the bicycle.
.

While the manufacture of the seat and back is traditional, the choice to have used tubular steel is rather revolutionary and innovative. This combination of the two times allows these chairs to be able to fit into any decor and cross generations. Our great grandparents may have owned this type of chair, as well as our grandchildren. It's what we call a design classic.
