The GP9RM locomotive: a portrait anchored in Montreal
Passionate about these imposing machines loaded with history, he began his project by drawing the Canadian National Railway Company's GP9RM "port job" switcher locomotive, number 7229. This model, which crisscrosses the south of Montreal, spends much of its time at the Pointe St-Charles yard, just a few blocks from his workshop. Fascinated by its familiar presence and essential role, he wanted to capture all its uniqueness in a detailed portrait. If you want to see this locomotive in action, head to the Sébastopol Street lookout: there's a good chance it's there pulling cars, faithful to its mission for decades.
Canadian Pacific Train No. 1410
The second poster features Canadian Pacific Railway train No. 1410, dressed in the classic CP livery. This distinctive design combines a mid-century aesthetic with the iconic century-old beaver, a symbol deeply rooted in the country’s railway history.
VIA No. 6440: an icon of the 1980s
Finally, the third illustration pays homage to VIA train No. 6440 from the late 1980s, immediately recognizable by its bright yellow hue.
