A designer chair in solid teak and aluminum, designed for moments of relaxation.

Its name says it all — the Offline dining chair by Blu Dot is an invitation to put down the screen, sit down, and do nothing else. With its combination of solid teak and powder-coated aluminum, it brings a soft yet assertive presence to any space, whether around a garden table or in a contemporary interior.

Beveled planks that conform to the posture and reveal the beauty of the wood

The seat and back of the Offline chair are made of tapered planks of FSC®-certified solid teak, whose carefully beveled edges soften the touch and naturally conform to the body. This attention to the material is not a mere detail: it is what transforms a simple chair into a pleasant and lasting seating experience. The natural beauty of the teak—its grain, its warmth, its nuances—does the rest.

A base resistant to outdoor conditions while maintaining a lightweight silhouette

The powder-coated aluminum base plays a role that is both discreet and essential: resistant to outdoor conditions, it ensures exemplary stability on all surfaces—terrace, garden, or patio—while preserving the overall visual lightness. It is this balance between structural rigor and formal elegance that gives the Offline its distinctive coherence.

A seat that is easy to move and store, ideal for residential or professional spaces

Stackable, lightweight, and easy to move: the Offline chair adapts to spaces and lifestyles. It moves effortlessly from the patio to the dining room, stores away without taking up much space, and integrates naturally into all settings—residential or professional.

  • Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. To remove dirt and fingerprints, use quality cleaners specifically formulated for metal furniture. Wipe thoroughly with a soft cloth.
  • This teak is a Grade A solid wood sourced from sustainable forests. Teak's natural characteristics make it particularly suitable for outdoor use. Please note that grain and color may vary from piece to piece due to the natural variations in the wood.
  • Teak also develops a silvery-grey patina over time. The extent and speed of this change depend on the climate, exposure to the elements, and level of maintenance. Temperature fluctuations cause natural expansion and contraction of teak, which can sometimes lead to the appearance of hairline cracks. These should not affect the structural integrity of the design.
  • The natural oils in teak make it ideal for outdoor use, as they prevent rot and make it resistant to fungi and wood-boring insects. Avoid letting water stagnate on the surfaces. This can cause the teak's natural oils to rise to the surface and create water stains.
  • Over time, exposure to moisture can also bring out the wood grain. Simply sand with fine sandpaper to smooth it. To keep your teak looking its best, we recommend covering it when not in use. If you prefer your teak to be less silvery-grey, we suggest using Bayes Teak Cleaner & Restorer to maintain its original color or revive it if it has already developed a patina. Apply the product according to the manufacturer's instructions for best results.

Blu Dot

Combining business with pleasure

At Blu Dot, the philosophy is clear: design is not just about aesthetics. It must, above all, adapt to today's lifestyles and work environments, offering solutions that are creative, functional, and intuitive. Each creation aims to improve everyday life—to make it more fluid, more enjoyable, more seamless.

With this in mind, each piece designed by Blu Dot is designed to last, with a true personality and purpose. The goal? To offer useful, durable objects capable of providing pleasure day after day, year after year.

Blu Dot

Homemade

True to its artisanal and collaborative approach, Blu Dot designs all of its products in-house. Everything is created in-house, from the first sketches to the finished product. Their team of designers works hand in hand in the Minneapolis workshop, passionately exploring each step of the process: sketches, mock-ups, material testing, prototypes, packaging… nothing is left to chance. Each project becomes a collective adventure, fueled by exchange, experimentation, and attention to detail.

About Blu Dot

Since its inception, Blu Dot has pursued the same ambition: to make good design accessible to as many people as possible. A simple, yet powerful idea—one that has guided the company for over twenty years.

What the founders perhaps didn't anticipate is that so many years later, they'd still be there, in their Minneapolis studio, imagining objects that are beautiful, useful, and designed for everyday life. The difference today? The team has grown, it's enriched with passionate talent... and the workbench has seriously grown.
