A sleekly designed outdoor armchair perfect for terraces, pools and gardens

Born from the encounter between the warmth of natural materials and the rigor of contemporary design, the Low Fade armchair by Blu Dot redefines the art of outdoor living. Its soft lines and slender silhouette make it as appealing to look at as it is pleasant to use — on a terrace, by a pool, or in a sun-drenched garden.

An aesthetic balance between modern metal and FSC® certified solid wood

The tinted aluminum frame forms the backbone of this lounge chair : solid without being bulky, it gives the piece a strong presence while maintaining an airy silhouette. It precisely supports the FSC®-certified solid teak backrest—a noble wood, carefully crafted, whose enveloping curve naturally invites the body to rest and relax. The visual balance between the controlled coolness of the metal and the organic softness of the wood is at the heart of the Low Fade's identity.

Quick-drying foam and durable Sunbrella® fabric, UV and stain resistant

The fixed cushion makes no compromises between comfort and durability. Its quick-drying, mold-resistant foam features a waterproof barrier that promotes water drainage and air circulation—ensuring a dry and fresh seat after every downpour. Covered in Sunbrella® fabric, renowned for its exceptional performance, it resists stains, moisture, and UV rays, maintaining its impeccable appearance season after season.

Premium materials and a design built to withstand the seasons

With the Low Fade, Blu Dot has created an outdoor armchair that doesn't compromise between elegance and durability. Every detail—from the certified wood to the technical fabric—reflects a commitment to quality designed to accompany you through the warmer months, year after year.

  • To protect the finish and extend the life of your outdoor furniture, store it in a dry place when not in use or during periods of inclement weather. We cannot guarantee that it will be free from chipping, scratches, discoloration, or corrosion, especially in harsh coastal or urban environments.
  • Vacuum your upholstery regularly to prevent dirt and dust from becoming embedded in the fabric. To remove small creases, we recommend using an iron set to the "synthetic" setting.
  • Act quickly in case of a spill. Blot the spill with a clean white cloth or paper towel. Never rub the surface. Apply a solution of water and mild dish soap to the spilled area. Rinse the fabric surface thoroughly to remove all residue, working from seam to seam. Allow to air dry.
  • Mold can grow on dirt and dust embedded in the fabric. Before cleaning, we recommend moving the furniture to a safe work area or covering the surrounding floor. To remove mold or mildew stains, we recommend applying a solution of one cup of bleach and one-quarter cup of mild dish soap in 3.8 liters of water. Let the solution sit for no more than 15 minutes. Clean the entire surface with a soft sponge and rinse thoroughly to remove all residue, working from seam to seam. Allow to air dry completely before use.
  • Avoid placing heavy or sharp objects on the surface of the furniture for long periods of time, as this could cause permanent marks.
  • If there are any snags in the fabric, tuck the loose threads into the fabric or gently push them to the wrong side. Never pull or cut loose threads.
  • Keep in mind that the grain and color of teak can vary from piece to piece due to the natural variations in the wood. Teak also develops a patina over time, taking on a silvery-grey hue. The extent and speed of this change depend on the climate, exposure to the elements, and the level of maintenance.
  • Temperature changes cause teak to expand and contract naturally, which can sometimes lead to the appearance of hairline cracks. These should not affect the structural integrity of the design.
  • Over time, exposure to moisture can also bring out the wood grain. Simply sand it with fine sandpaper to smooth it out.
  • To keep your teak looking its best, we recommend covering it when not in use. If you prefer your teak to be less silvery-grey, we suggest using Bayes Teak Cleaner and Restorer to maintain its original color or revive it if it has already developed a patina.

Combining business with pleasure

At Blu Dot, the philosophy is clear: design is not just about aesthetics. It must, above all, adapt to today's lifestyles and work environments, offering solutions that are creative, functional, and intuitive. Each creation aims to improve everyday life—to make it more fluid, more enjoyable, more seamless.

With this in mind, each piece designed by Blu Dot is designed to last, with a true personality and purpose. The goal? To offer useful, durable objects capable of providing pleasure day after day, year after year.

Blu Dot

Homemade

True to its artisanal and collaborative approach, Blu Dot designs all of its products in-house. Everything is created in-house, from the first sketches to the finished product. Their team of designers works hand in hand in the Minneapolis workshop, passionately exploring each step of the process: sketches, mock-ups, material testing, prototypes, packaging… nothing is left to chance. Each project becomes a collective adventure, fueled by exchange, experimentation, and attention to detail.

About Blu Dot

Since its inception, Blu Dot has pursued the same ambition: to make good design accessible to as many people as possible. A simple, yet powerful idea—one that has guided the company for over twenty years.

What the founders perhaps didn't anticipate is that so many years later, they'd still be there, in their Minneapolis studio, imagining objects that are beautiful, useful, and designed for everyday life. The difference today? The team has grown, it's enriched with passionate talent... and the workbench has seriously grown.
