A creation by Seletti and Studio Job that transforms outdoor furniture into an expressive work of art
When garden furniture decides to step outside the box, it gives birth to the Industry armchair by Seletti. Designed by the Flemish duo Studio Job for Seletti, Industry is a work of art in its own right: an object that tells a story, questions, provokes — and fully embraces that role, whether in a private garden, on a restaurant terrace, or at an exhibition.
An imposing structure where symbolic motifs are directly integrated into the material
This version with armrests of the Industry chair takes the dialogue between classical heritage and contemporary subversion even further. While the armless chair evoked lightness, this one asserts a more authoritative, almost regal presence. Its curved armrests, far from being mere functional appendices, are also entirely sculpted from the material: keys, cogs, flowers, and symbols emerge as if they had always been there, organically fused into the metal. Grasping the armrest is already holding an object full of meaning.
A detailed and symmetrical composition inspired by a contemporary coat of arms with multiple interpretations
The wider backrest offers an even more generous surface for Studio Job's abundant iconography. A dragonfly in flight, a large gear, a pitchfork, peace and love signs, crowns, and intertwined foliage: the composition, rigorously symmetrical in its broad strokes but overflowing in its details, functions as a reimagined coat of arms for our time. Every glance finds something new in it. This is the strength of this work: the eye never gets bored.
Resistant cast aluminum and monochrome finishes to enhance the motifs
Made from perforated cast aluminum, the dining chair is both robust and surprisingly lightweight, designed to withstand outdoor conditions without sacrificing formal demands. Available in white, black, or blue, it plays with codes: monochrome, it accentuates the graphic power of the motifs and makes each color a radically different interpretation of the same object.
