A radical reinterpretation of classic codes between tradition and provocation
Born from the creative collaboration between Seletti and Diesel Living, the Classics on Acid collection subjects the great codes of traditional porcelain to a radical treatment. The forms seem to have been sucked in from the inside, the contours undulate and shy away, as if the material itself had given way under an invisible force. The patterns, however, remain faithful to their origins: swirling dragons with coppery reflections, baroque floral arabesques of Delft inspiration, oriental landscapes in cobalt blue wash, dense intertwined plant compositions. But their staging on these distorted forms creates a fascinating off-kilter effect, between museography and provocation.
A striking contrast between ornamental richness and deconstructed silhouettes
It is precisely this tension between ornamental rigor and formal irreverence that gives these plates their strength. The decorative work is of remarkable precision and richness: each motif is treated with the care of a collector's item, down to the finest details.
