Its design is distinguished by a structure with resolutely architectural lines: wide uprights and armrests in warm-toned FSC® certified solid teak form a robust frame, as beautiful from the front as from the side. The straightforward geometry of the whole—clean angles, generous thicknesses, precise joinery—gives the chair a strong visual presence, halfway between outdoor furniture and an interior design piece. - This chair is covered with Sunbrella© fabrics. Sunbrella fabrics are treated to be water-repellent and stain-resistant, and prevent mildew. We recommend regular cleaning, as mildew can grow on dirt and dust embedded in the fabric.
- Vacuum the upholstery regularly; this will prevent dirt and dust from embedding in the fabric. To remove small wrinkles, we recommend using an iron set to the "synthetic" setting.
- Act quickly in case of spills. Blot up spilled liquid with a clean white cloth or paper towel. Never rub the surface. Apply a solution of water and mild dish soap to the affected area. Rinse the fabric surface thoroughly to remove any residue, working from seam to seam. Allow to air dry. Consult a cleaning professional for stubborn stains.
- Avoid placing heavy or sharp objects on the furniture surface for long periods; this could cause permanent marks. If pilling occurs on the fabric, tuck loose threads into the fabric or gently push them to the back. Never pull or cut loose threads. Do not use a steam iron to remove wrinkles, as this could damage the fabric.
- Mildew can grow on dirt and dust embedded in the fabric. Before cleaning, we recommend moving the furniture to a safe work area or covering the surrounding floor. To remove mildew stains, we recommend applying a solution of 1 cup bleach and ¼ cup mild dish soap per gallon of water. Let the solution sit for up to 15 minutes. Clean the entire surface with a soft sponge and rinse thoroughly to remove any residue, working from seam to seam. Allow to air dry completely before use.
- Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. To remove dirt and fingerprints, use quality cleaners specially formulated for metal furniture. Wipe completely with a soft cloth.
- This teak is Grade A solid wood from sustainable sources. The natural characteristics of teak make it particularly suitable for outdoor use. Please note that grain and color may vary from piece to piece due to natural variations in the wood.
- Teak also develops a silvery-gray patina over time. The extent and speed of this change depend on the climate, exposure to the elements, and level of maintenance. Temperature changes cause natural expansion and contraction of teak, which can sometimes lead to hairline cracks. These should not affect the structural integrity of the design.
- Teak's natural oils make it ideal for outdoor use, as they prevent rot and make it resistant to fungi and wood-boring insects. Avoid allowing water to stagnate on surfaces. This can cause teak's natural oils to rise to the surface and create water stains.
- Over time, exposure to moisture can also bring out the wood grain. Simply sand with fine sandpaper to smooth it out. To keep your teak looking beautiful, we recommend covering it when not in use. If you prefer your teak to be less silvery-gray, we suggest using Bayes teak cleaner and restorer to maintain its original color or restore it if it is already patinated. Apply the product according to the manufacturer's instructions for best results.
