Teun Zwets is a Dutch designer known for his intuitive, experimental, and highly personal approach to design. A 2020 graduate of Design Academy Eindhoven, he gained recognition with his Teunland project, created using found and reclaimed materials. His work explores the intersection of functionality, playful forms, craftsmanship, and unconventional uses of materials.
The Teun Zwets x HKliving collection is a collaboration that transforms familiar furniture and everyday objects into much more expressive pieces. Zwets brings his distinctive style to eight creations spanning furniture, mirrors, lighting, and decorative accessories.
The collection is bold, raw, playful, and intentionally imperfect. Strong colours meet glossy finishes, workshop-inspired textures, and asymmetrical forms. Each object retains its function while taking on a sculptural presence that brings it closer to functional art.
Functional art sits at the intersection of practical objects and artistic expression. A chair remains a chair, a mirror retains its purpose, and a tray can still be used, but their forms, colours, and visual presence also give them an artistic dimension. The Teun Zwets x HKliving collaboration is a particularly good example of this approach.
