A classic silhouette revisited with a finely perforated aluminum structure
The silhouette of the Industry dining chair deliberately draws from the repertoire of 19th-century Victorian wrought iron furniture: a medallion back with a rounded top, gracefully curved legs with generous lines, and a round seat adorned with relief patterns. These gentle and bucolic forms, deeply rooted in collective memory, serve as the starting point for a radical reinterpretation. For it is in their treatment that everything changes: entirely crafted from perforated cast aluminum, the chair becomes a metal lace of astonishing complexity, a true goldsmith's work on a furniture scale.
A complex graphic composition exploring human duality through rich iconography
The backrest, a true canvas to decipher, concentrates the essence of Studio Job's visual language. Sunflower blooms, butterflies, a peace and love sign, a royal crown, keys, chess pieces, guitars, cups, cogs… the motifs interlock, overlap, and respond to each other in a graphic profusion that doesn't reveal itself at a single glance. Each detail is a symbol, each symbol tells a fragment of the human condition. This singular iconography explores the fundamental duality of being: man at work, shaping the world with tools and machines, and man as a philosopher, in perpetual search of meaning. Machines and nature, life and death, order and chaos coexist in this ornamental grammar that reproduces, in metal, the elusive and colorful nature of existence.
