The Classics on Acid collection, born from the iconic collaboration between Seletti and Diesel Living, fearlessly reinvents the major codes of traditional porcelain. Drawing its inspiration from tableware around the world, from Delft faience to Chinese Willow patterns, and Asian-inspired watercolor landscapes, each piece reinterprets these references with a resolutely "after-party" vision: as if the most beautiful classic porcelains had survived a memorable night.
Irregular outlines combined with decorations inspired by Asian and European art
What strikes at first glance is the very shape of the plates. Far from the perfect, sober roundness of conventional dinnerware, the contours undulate, twist slightly, breaking free from the rules. The patterns, however, remain remarkably precise: intertwining dragons, scenes of pagodas and weeping willows, baroque florals, or wash landscapes, faithful in their execution but delightfully displaced in their context.
A strong visual contrast between classic motifs and quirky design
As attractive hung on the wall as they are placed on a table, these porcelain dessert plates lend themselves to an original and deliberately unconventional table setting. The contrast between the rigor of the blue and white motifs and the irreverence of the shapes creates an immediately remarkable visual effect.
