- This sofa is upholstered with Sunbrella© fabrics. Sunbrella fabrics are treated to be water-repellent and stain-resistant, and prevent mold growth. We recommend regular cleaning, as mold can grow on dirt and dust embedded in the fabric.
- Regularly vacuum the upholstery; this will prevent dirt and dust from embedding in the fabric. To remove small wrinkles, we recommend using an iron set to the “synthetic” setting.
- Act quickly in case of spills. Blot spilled liquid with a clean white cloth or paper towel. Never rub the surface. Apply a solution of water and mild dish soap to the affected surface. Rinse the fabric surface thoroughly to remove any residue, working from seam to seam. Allow to air dry. Consult a professional cleaner for stubborn stains.
- Avoid placing heavy or sharp objects on the furniture surface for extended periods; this could cause permanent marks. In case of pilling on the fabric, tuck any loose threads back into the fabric or gently push them to the underside. Never pull on loose threads and never cut them. Do not use a garment steamer to remove wrinkles, as this could damage the fabric.
- Mold can grow on dirt and dust embedded in the fabric. Before cleaning, we recommend moving the furniture to a safe workspace or covering the surrounding floor. To remove mold stains, we recommend applying a solution of 1 cup of bleach and ¼ cup of mild dish soap per 4 liters of water. Let the solution sit for a maximum of 15 minutes. Clean the entire surface with a soft sponge and rinse thoroughly to remove any residue, working from seam to seam. Allow to air dry completely before use.
- Clean with a slightly damp soft cloth. To remove dirt and fingerprints, use quality cleaners specifically formulated for metal furniture. Wipe completely with a soft cloth.
- This teak is FSC® certified solid teak from sustainable sources. The natural characteristics of teak make it particularly suitable for outdoor use. Please note that grain and color may vary from piece to piece due to natural variations in the wood.
- Teak also develops a silver-gray patina over time. The extent and speed of this change depend on the climate, exposure to the elements, and level of maintenance. Temperature changes cause natural expansion and contraction of teak, which can sometimes lead to hairline cracks. These should not affect the structural integrity of the design.
- The natural oils in teak make it ideal for outdoor use, as they prevent rot and make it resistant to fungi and wood-boring insects. Avoid letting water stagnate on surfaces. This can bring the natural oils of teak to the surface and create water stains.
- Over time, exposure to moisture can also make the wood grain more pronounced. Simply sand with fine sandpaper to smooth it. To keep your teak looking beautiful, we recommend covering it when not in use. If you prefer your teak to be less silver-gray, we suggest using Bayes teak cleaner and restorer to maintain its original color or revive it if it has already patinated. Apply the product according to the manufacturer's instructions for best results.
