An elegant silhouette that combines natural warmth and graphic lines

The Hold Tight outdoor dining table by Blu Dot celebrates the marriage of the natural warmth of teak and the graphic precision of metal. Designed to withstand the seasons with elegance, it combines durable materials and clean lines in a silhouette that is both robust and refined.

Spaced slats to facilitate water drainage and preserve the wood

Its FSC® certified solid teak top immediately brings a sense of warmth and authenticity. The carefully spaced wooden slats are not just for aesthetics: they allow rainwater to drain naturally while accommodating the wood's movements due to temperature and humidity variations. A functional detail that highlights the discreet intelligence of its design.

An industrial-inspired base that remains light and contemporary

The powder-coated aluminum structure subtly contrasts with the organic richness of teak. Inspired by industrial codes, its base asserts an architectural presence without weighing down the overall design. Softened angles and clean lines give the table a minimalist, almost graphic look, capable of fitting into a contemporary terrace as well as a more natural environment.

A functional base that optimizes comfort and circulation around the table

Designed for long meals and large gatherings, the Hold Tight emphasizes generous proportions and obvious user comfort. Its well-designed base frees up space under the top and facilitates seating circulation around the table, while its solid construction allows it to withstand daily use outdoors and indoors.

  • Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. To remove dirt and fingerprints, use quality cleaners specially formulated for metal furniture. Wipe completely dry with a soft cloth.
  • This teak is premium grade A solid wood from sustainable sources. Teak's natural characteristics make it particularly suitable for outdoor use. Please note that grain and color may vary from piece to piece due to natural variations in the wood.
  • Teak also develops a silver-grey patina over time. The extent and speed of this change depend on the climate, exposure to the elements, and level of maintenance. Temperature changes cause natural expansion and contraction in teak, which can sometimes lead to hairline cracks. These should not affect the structural integrity of the design.
  • Teak's natural oils make it ideal for outdoor use, as they prevent rot and make it resistant to fungi and wood-boring insects. Avoid leaving water stagnant on surfaces. This can cause teak's natural oils to rise to the surface and create water stains.
  • Over time, exposure to moisture can also cause the wood grain to become more prominent. Simply sand with fine sandpaper to smooth it. To keep your teak looking beautiful, we recommend covering it when not in use. If you prefer your teak to be less silver-grey, we suggest using Bayes Teak Cleaner & Restorer to maintain its original color or restore it if it is already patinated. Apply the product according to the manufacturer's instructions for best results.

Combining business with pleasure

At Blu Dot, the philosophy is clear: design is not just about aesthetics. It must, above all, adapt to today's lifestyles and work environments, offering solutions that are creative, functional, and intuitive. Each creation aims to improve everyday life—to make it more fluid, more enjoyable, more seamless.

With this in mind, each piece designed by Blu Dot is designed to last, with a true personality and purpose. The goal? To offer useful, durable objects capable of providing pleasure day after day, year after year.

Blu Dot

Homemade

True to its artisanal and collaborative approach, Blu Dot designs all of its products in-house. Everything is created in-house, from the first sketches to the finished product. Their team of designers works hand in hand in the Minneapolis workshop, passionately exploring each step of the process: sketches, mock-ups, material testing, prototypes, packaging… nothing is left to chance. Each project becomes a collective adventure, fueled by exchange, experimentation, and attention to detail.

About Blu Dot

Since its inception, Blu Dot has pursued the same ambition: to make good design accessible to as many people as possible. A simple, yet powerful idea—one that has guided the company for over twenty years.

What the founders perhaps didn't anticipate is that so many years later, they'd still be there, in their Minneapolis studio, imagining objects that are beautiful, useful, and designed for everyday life. The difference today? The team has grown, it's enriched with passionate talent... and the workbench has seriously grown.
