At Fluf, it all started with a simple but telling observation: the majority of lunch bags were poorly designed. They smelled bad, were impossible to wash properly, and often contained toxic materials—far from ideal for transporting food. That's where Nathalie Butterfield and Terra Kushner, the founders of Fluf, came in. They decided to do things differently, with an approach that combined design, sustainability, and health.
Their mission
Creating products that are clean, practical, and ethical. All Fluf bags are handmade from organic and recycled materials, with respect for people, the planet, and users. Machine-washable, durable, and tested to be food-safe, they're designed for real life—packed lunches, on-the-go snacks, and bags that inevitably end up stained. With Fluf, everything is reusable, washable, and sustainable, without compromising on style or environmental awareness.
A responsible story
The Fluf adventure began in 2005 with a very different idea: to create the perfect pillow, comfortable, vegan, and biodegradable. At the time, replacing feather filling with a plant-based corn-based alternative was a technical challenge. But the desire to innovate responsibly was already there. In 2007, they developed their first organic hemp prints, discovering a passion for textile design that would soon redirect their brand.
The clean and ecological movement
Driven by the growing "zero waste" movement and the move away from disposable plastics, Nathalie and Terra saw an opportunity: to apply their textile expertise to sustainable everyday products. This is how their collection of reusable lunch and snack bags, now emblematic of the brand, was born.
